This offer presents to you an unforgettable 3day experience in Volcanoes national park, one of Africa’s prime safari destinations. You will have an opportunity of tracking your closest relatives, the endangered Mountain Gorillas residing in the vast jungle of volcanoes N/park, watching the dominant silverbacks expose their huge chests to your camera, and the mothers feed their young ones and the adolescents hop from one tree branch to another.
You will also enjoy the cool climate, security, traditional canoe rides along the twin lakes, scenic viewing, Kigali city tour and cultural encounter.
The trip starts and ends in Kigali international airport, with a very professional tour guide and a comfortable 4WD.
Day 1: Pick Up, Kigali city tour and drive to Volcanoes National Park
On this day, our company representative will happily welcome you to Rwanda (land of a thousand Hills), upon landing at the Kigali international airport. He will then proceed to brief you about all the activities you will engage in and places to visit before driving to Kigali city for an amazing city tour, around Kigali city, visiting the genocide memorial ground, and the local markets where you will buy some of the items and exchange your money to local currency.
Thereafter, you will enjoy a very sumptuous Lunch meal, before embarking on a 2-3 hours’ drive to Volcanoes National Park, located in the Northern Province. The drive is on both tarmac and marram roads with eye-catching views of the rolling hills, green vegetation and Rwandese natives.
You will arrive at your lodge, either in or around the park in the evening, ready for refreshment, dinner, and overnight.
Day 2: Morning gorilla trekking and visit the twin lakes
After packing your camera, water, binoculars, tracking permit and clad in a long-sleeved shirt / blouse and a trouser very early in the morning. Enjoy a delicious cup of coffee before joining your driver guide who will drive you to the park’s headquarters for a briefing session and document verification that commences at 8:00 am.
During the briefing, the park ranger will tell you more about the gorilla families, tracking rules, and verify your trekking documents. Thereafter, he will guide you into the Jungle in search of the gorilla family you have been allocated. The trekking exercise can last for one or more hours, depending on your speed and the direction the gentle apes have taken.
When you find the gorillas, one hour is yours to take photos, watch the creatures play and feed and ask the park rangers any questions before having a lunch break. After lunch, you will visit the beautiful twin lakes for photography and boat cruise where you will site several unique bird species and scenery. At dusk, return for dinner and a nap at your lodge.
Day 3: Ibyiwachu cultural experience and departure to Kigali city.
On this day, our company representative will pick you up as soon as breakfast is done, and check out thereafter for a 2-3 hours’ drive to Kigali international airport, but first, a rewarding visit to Ibyiwachu cultural village is worthwhile where you will enjoy Rwandese cultural dances, stories and dances among others.
You will proceed with the drive to Kigali International Airport after lunch.
