Chimpanzee Habituation Experience is one of the fascinating activities offered in Uganda’s Kibale Forest National Park and allows visitors to follow a team of scientists, researchers and trackers into the forest to learn about these great apes. This experience involves spending time with chimpanzee troops that are less accustomed to human presence unlike the ones visited during the normal chimpanzee tracking adventure.

Therefore don’t leave out long sleeved shirts and safari pants for protecting your legs/hands from insect bites and vegetation scratches, insect repellant because you will be exposed to different insects in the forest, rain jacket, waterproof backpack for carrying your Lunch box, permits, drinking water and camera, hiking boots, gardening gloves, toiletries, binoculars, cotton socks, a hat and sunglasses among others.

- Maximum participants for the Chimpanzee Habituation Experience is four persons per troop per day.
- Flash photography is prohibited.
- Dumping of rubbish in the forest of also not allowed.
- Avoid eating, smoking and drinking in the presence of these Great Apes.
- Visitors with flue or cough are advised to postpone their Chimpanzee Habituation tour until proved free from these communicable diseases.
- Visitors are advised to maintain a distance of at least 8 meters when viewing the chimpanzees.
